Hi! Welcome to the Kristen Hansen Brakeman website.
I’m an essayist and a fiction writer, and just signed on as a blogger for the CS Monitor.
I am currently hawking two books. One, is about life in the Sandwich Generation – a collection of essays about raising my three daughters while also making sure my 85-year-old mom doesn’t wither away in her home, surrounded by a herd of cats. There’s some other fun stuff too, like a piece about teaching my daughter to swear and another about shopping at the stinky and loud Hollister store with my tween. Oh, and an essay about my husband’s prostate cancer. Well, that wasn’t so fun now that I think about it.
I also have another book up for grabs, “Pointy-Eared Freak,” a humorous fantasy about a 12-year-old girl who discovers she may be an elf. Sort of like “The Santa Clause,” but with kids and no Tim Allen.
Besides writing, I work on comedy and awards shows like The Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Oscars Red Carpet, an the Comedy Central Roasts. (Here are some of my credits.)
